Representing Jesus…

14 May

I sure do love The Message translation.  It just has a way of communicating some complex ideas in a very straightforward way.  Today, as I read from 2 Corinthians 5:16-20, I was reminded of our God given responsibility/honor as representatives of Jesus.  Listen to this: God has given us the task of telling everyone what he is doing. We’re Christ’s representatives. God uses us to persuade men and women to drop their differences and enter into God’s work of making things right between them. We’re speaking for Christ himself now…

We have often heard the question posed, “If we don’t tell them about Jesus, who will?”  The answer is simple: NOBODY!  WE are Christ’s representatives.  How does He work in people’s lives today, how will He communicate His love to the world now that He is seated in the heavenlies?  He will use us.  We are his representatives.

Anybody that has ever voted before knows the disappointment of poor representation.  I don’t know about you, but I am tired of electing politicians that are more concerned with their own backsides and winning the next political game than they are representing the people and causes that got them elected!  It is no different with Jesus:  Did you know that HE chose YOU!  He hand picked you to be His representative.  Then he clothed you with power from on high so Know Jesus?that you could be the kind of representative that He called you to be!  So let’s get out and represent friends!

The last part of verse 20 in The Message states our message well: Become friends with God; he’s already a friend with you.   If you don’t know Jesus as your LORD and SAVIOR, CLICK HERE to find out how you can…
